by Brig.-Gen. Silas Casey
New York: D. Van Nostrand, 1863. Hard Cover. Very Good binding. Three 24mo. volumes; in the publisher's green cloth, embossed cloth, each stamped in blind with an American eagle to the center of each board and ruled in blind to the perimeter of the boards; with eagle decoration and titling in gilt to the spine; perhaps a married set (though not by us) as Volumes I & II have two different previous owner names. ~~The textblock of Volume II is beginning to separate at 208-209; while it is still holding by the strings, it is decidedly tender; the corners of Volume III have significant wear, especially at the rear board; the green cloth turn-in to the front board of Volume I is a bit loose from the pastedown. ~~With all plates present, for a total of 97, of which many are folding.~~Volume I: Schools of the soldier and company; Instructions for skirmishers and music; [5], 6-279, including Notation for Bugle Calls and Contents, followed by [6] pages of publisher's ads; with 37 plates; Volume II: School of the Battalion; ][5], 6-279 pages, followed by [6] pages of publisher's ads; with 36 plates; Volume III: Evolutions of a Brigade and corps d'armee; [5], 6-183 including Table of Contents, followed by [6] pages publisher's ads.~~~.
