Jazz Age brochure for the Monterey Peninsula and the Hotel Del Monte, a large resort that was once one of the finest luxury hotels in the country. The resort opened in 1880 and operated through 1942. When it closed, it was initially used by the U.S. Navy as a school and now serves as the Navy Gateway Inn and Suites Monterey.

This brochure, accompanied by a hotel receipt dated 1927, recalls an era when the hotel and the Monterey Peninsula were promoted as a vacation destination. "The Monterey Peninsula is everyman's playground. Many wealthy families have year-round or vacation-time homes there.
