Publication date from new preface. FIRST EDITION, of this third title in the series. This Third Book follows the 1922 and 1926 publications, but each is a self-contained cookbook. Recipe attributed with the name of the contributor. The portrait is of "Martha Dismukes, Helen's Mammy who represented the Black Mammy of the Old South." "Helen" was the author's daughter, and the dedicatee of the book. Included is a list of members of the Alabama Division U.D.C. who have served as General U.D.C. and Division Officers. Text block clean and sound; endpapers with a few spots and a crease to the free front endpaper. In publisher's printed burgundy cloth (silk moire), with some rubbing to edges. Near very good. Scarce. [OCLC locates sixteen copies of this third book; Brown 3 (second book only), not in Cagle].
