First edition, 1 of 1000 copies; 8 1/2 x 5 1/2; pp. [4], 7-231, [5]; beige wraps printed in brown and black; illustrated with portrait frontis; a bit of wear to corners and tips of spine and a tiny spot to front wrap; in very good condition. Signed and inscribed by the author on the title page. Halyna Pankiw (1924 - 2016), writing under the pseudonym Hanna Cherin, was an Ukrainian-American poet and longtime librarian at the University of Chicago. She immigrated to the US in 1949, after spending time in a DP camp in Germany. The author of several collections of poetry, including the current one, and a novel, she was also known for her stories for children. Several of her poems would be set to music.
