Alexandria: Whitehead Morris Limited, 1922. First printing. Very good plus in good jacket.. First edition of Forster's portrait of Alexandria, in the very scarce glassine, from the library of expatriate American publisher Barbara Wescott. The publisher initially reported that a "very large proportion" of the original edition had been destroyed in a warehouse fire (Kirkpatrick). Worse news was to follow: Forster (truncated)
