Skillfully rebacked with original spine laid down. Few stray marks to cloth, some marginal staining internally else clean and very good.

Wonderfully illustrated, privately printed account of a 44-state bicycle trip taken as a wager, the purse of which was $5000.  Published the year after the trip concluded, the book recounts their journey starting in Jackson, Michigan on May 2, 1904, covering some 13,000 miles through numerous cities, lasting roughly 18 months, and the funds for which raised by the sale of an aluminum ashtray which they sold along the way.  

OCLC cites 11 holdings for this title, and it is also quite scarce in the trade.
