Many photos, short explanations of the many dances performed by the company on its program, etc. etc. N.d. explicitly given, but 1958. 4to. 30.5 by 23 cm. Unpaginated, 16 pages, plus semi-stiff wrap covers. Ballets Africains was formed by Keita Fodeba in 1952. In 1958, the year of this program's publication, it became the national company of Guinea. The company remains active to this day. Throughout its existence it has toured the Western world. Two pages with photos of National Artists' better known artists, which included the Vienna Philharmonic, the violinist Mischa Elman and Ruggiero Ricci, the pianist Jose Iturbi, and opera singers Birgit Nillson, Zinka Milanov and Robert Merrill. Very light soiling of red cover, and the gentlest of wear. A lovely copy.
