Providence: Geo. P. Daniels, 1843. Paperback. Very Good. Paperback. 24 mo. A later edition, but still an early and uncommon chapbook. Each of the stories imparts lessons of good behavior and morality. The last story is about the camel's feelings of resentment and how once it acts out, it immediately forgets. It tells of how camel drivers drop their clothes when their camels become angry so that the camel will rush at the clothes and trample them rather than the driver. Afterwards, "the driver re-appears, and the whole business is forgotten." Brown paper wrappers with black title to front cover. Hand sewn with brown thread. Occasional smudge marks to interior, but clean overall. Crease to covers. Includes frontispiece illustration of both main characters and 12 in text woodcut illustrations. 24 pages. Size: about 5.5 x 3.5 inches. CHILD/062524.
