Introduction by Count Basie. Memoir of jazz trombonist Dicky Wells, who played with Count Basie between 1938 and 1945 and 1947-1950. He also played with Cecil Scott, Spike Hughes, Fletcher Henderson, Benny Carter, Teddy Hill, Jimmy Rushing, Buck Clayton and Ray Charles. "Told in Well's own racy vernacular, it tells how it was to travel on the road with the great Negro bands." Some chipping to margins of dust jacket, otherwise very good+ condition.
