Set of 23 maps issued by the German Army General Staff in Berlin in advance of the September 1, 1939 invasion of Poland. Inside cover stamped "Oberkommando der Wehrmacht Wehrwirtschaftliche Abteilung" (Supreme Command of the Wehrmacht / Financial Department of the Army. Comprehensive set of maps used by the General Staff of the German Army to facilitate the invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939.

1. Physikalische Karte von Polen 1:1000000 (MISSING)

2. Straßenzustand in Polen 1939. Road conditions in Poland (1:100000 / 38 x 32"). With small scale maps of Warsaw and surroundings, and the industrial area of Kattowitz. Used with several extensive closed tears, very light staining but complete.

3. Eisenbahnkarte von Polen. Train lines in Poland, with a register of train stations and stops on verso. (1:1500000 / 29 1/2 x 25 1/2")). With small scale maps of the surroundings of Danzig, rail mergers in Thorn, Lodz, Warsaw, Lehmberg, and airline connections. Special edition, office use only. Minor staining and small closed tears.

4a. Industrieübersicht Polen (1:1200000 / 42 x 32") Stamped Secret. With small scale maps indicating industrial distribution, natural resources, the industrial area in Kattowitz, the coal mining area, and two squares indicating the legends used for the areas of Warsaw, Posen, Lodz, and Bromberg. Finally a chart indication the industrial plants in the order of workers employed.
4b. (On verso) Gemeindekarte der Republik Polen (1:1000000). Indicating the municipalities in Poland. Small closed tears and minor staining.

5a. Übersichtskarte Landschaftsgliederung (Overview of Landscape Structure) (1 : 300000) Indicating the existing numbers in black, the future numbers in red.
5b. (On Verso) Übersicht der Kartenblattnummerierung - Nummerierung in Polen (Overview of the map numbering - numbering in Poland) (1 : 300000) (19 3/4 x 18 1/2"). Very light staining and creasing.

6. Ost-Oberschlesisches Industriegebiet (1 : 50000 / 22 x 36 1/4"). Stamped 'Secret with printed explanations of objects according to German as well as Polish classification.' Very light tanning at some folds.

7. Warschau (1 : 20000 / 32 1/4 x 32 1/2") Military Geographical City Map. Stamped 'Secret,' specifying train lines, street cars, bus lines, churches, cemeteries, parks, an city limits. Contains list of National Agencies and streets on verso. With very light age-toning at some folds.

Portfolio with some wear and staining on covers, outsied and inside. Joints somewhat cracked with a one and a half inch closed tear at middle of back joint. The majority of the maps in very good condition with the exception of the Road conditions, though complete. Some with obvious traces of usage but complete.
