SAMUEL COLT (1814-1862). Colt established Colt's Patent Fire-Arms Manufacturing Company in 1854 and was one of the first to use the assembly line. ALS. 1 pg. 5 x 7. April 24, 1860. Hartford. An autograph letter signed Sam Colt: I am not well & Cannot to go from home for several days you had better call & See Mr Coleman. Colt crossed off enough and replaced it with & cannot. William T. Coleman was a New York based investor and vice president of a Colt enterprise. The letter is in very good condition on lined paper.
