First Edition of this collection of 24 short stories, many of them ending with classic "I did not see that coming" twists. Included is one of his best-known, "The Ransom of Red Chief." WHIRLIGIGS was published in September 1910, three months after the author's death (at age 47) -- due to two years of increasingly bad health brought on by diabetes, cirrhosis of the liver, and heart disease.
