New York: Wilfred Funk, Inc., 1954. 6th Printing. Near fine in decorated burnt orange cloth covered boards with black text and decorations on the spine and on the front board. The end sheets show offsetting from the jacket flaps; otherwise fine. In a very good-, unclipped dust jacket with a new price printed on the flap of the jacket. The upper 1 1/2 inches of the spine area is chipped, there are two 1/2 inch closed tears at the lower edge of the front panel and the fore corners of both front and rear panels are worn. Signed and inscribed by the author on the first free end paper. One of Eric Sloane's earliest books dealing with Americana. This one (truncated) is a classic as it includes his now famous sketches of barn and covered bridge details that no one else has illustrated as well. 112 pages of text with black and white line illustrations throughout.
