Garden City: Doubleday, Doran & Company, Inc, 1930. Very good plus.. Striking vintage edition of this uncommon large-format animal alphabet, illustrated with C. B. Falls's distinctive flair. Falls was a member of Decorative Designers, a group of influential designers of pictorial cloth bindings and dust jackets in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His bold, high-contrast illustrations also became a dominant aesthetic of American WWI political publications: he was a member of the Society of Illustrators during the war, and was responsible for the design of a number of oversees book drive posters. Falls's design sense is beautifully on display (truncated)
