Qu ji 曲集 [Song collection]

n.p., n.d.. Unpaginated manuscript collection of songs, in a 9.75x8.25 inch album with printed cover art and title. Some stains to the covers, edgewear, paper toned but pliable. Includes wartime songs such as 淡淡江南月 and 義勇軍. Laid in are several additional songs written on various scraps of paper, including the pre-revolutionary Chinese national anthem. Musical notes are recorded in numerical notation. Also laid in is a flyer from the St. James Episcopal Chinese Educational Guild dated 1961. From contents and context, this would appear to be a WWII-era songbook brought to the United States by a Chinese immigrant.
