Chicago, San Francisco, New York: A Concora Book, Rand McNally & Company, 1945. [MOVABLE BOOK] [TOY BOOK] [JUVENILE]. Susanne SUBA, illustrator. Slotties designed by Barnes & Reinecke, Chicago.

4to; 31, [1]pp + 1 bound-in board with "Slottie Toys" to punch out; blue pictorial boards featuring people and animals in a ring on the front and vignettes of people and animals on the rear; color pictorial title across two pages; black line drawings and color illustrations throughout; last page before punch-out page features directions for assembly of the two giraffe punch-outs; yellow board with die-cut giraffe shapes to be punched-out and assembled is complete and bound-in as last page; bumping of corners and scuffing to edges; unclipped color pictorial dust jacket, light chipping and age-toning to edges, very good in vg dj. Not found in Montanaro. This is the story of two giraffes: a young female giraffe and her uncle who lives in the zoo. The young giraffe leaves the circus to go visit her uncle and they have adventures touring the city and eating at a French café. The duo become heroes at a fire when they rescue a kitten. A sweet story accompanying one of the "Slottie" toys located after the last page of the book. Very unusual to find the toys intact.
