Your Job and Your Future: You can't go far if you don't keep fit" -- 1930s Public Health Pamphlet Warning Young Men About Venereal Diseases

Bismark, North Dakota: United States Public Health Service, 1930. Good. Toned with short tears and chipping, including one large short tear to upper right-hand corner. Minor water stains.. A 1930's-era public health pamphlet issued by the United States Public Health Service, warning young American men against the dangers of venereal diseases and quack doctors. Interestingly, the front cover gives little indication of the contents inside (probably for modesty's sake), but it swiftly gets to the point once it is opened. Emphasizes the importance of seeking qualified medical treatment over questionable quack doctor remedies (including shot after shot of mercury). On the subject of prevention, the pamphlet advises young men to "keep away from the kind of women who are willing to 'give you a good time,' whether they want money for it or no. DON'T FORGET IT! KEEP AWAY FROM PROSTITUTES AND LOOSE WOMEN." Folding pamphlet measuring approx. 6.25" by 3.25" folded.
