Still the best general source of whaling know-how, with Ashleys inimitable illustrations and much technical information on whaleships and whaling, as well as scrimshaw. Forster 160. Blank recto of color frontispiece shows some damp staining, else fine condition in publisher's cloth over boards with top edge gilt. As pretty a copy of this book as I've seen.. 28 cm. xxiv, 379 pp. b/w and color plates.
