"German Textbook of Tailering" [sic] Grundlehre der Schneiderei in vernacular dust jacket
Cute birdies!
- Berlin: Otto Beyer, 1935
Hardcover, 10" x 7.5", 130 pp., pocket at rear, illustrated throughout. Under vernacular dust jacket made from pink & black bird-print wrapping paper, taped to itself, with handwritten paper label to front panel.
Clean & solid binding, very good. Dust jacket torn at edges including a bit of loss at rear edges, but still in good condition with bright vibrant colors. There are things in the rear pocket, but they are kind of under the jacket and I haven't taken them out to examine them--they mostly look like tissue patterns but I don't know if they are original to the book.
Homemade dust jackets come in many varieties. This one in particular is quite charming and would be a fun addition to any collection of vernacular bindings or jackets.
