S. l.: Peters Shoe Co., 1915. Very good. DIe-cut, card stock fan with a wooden handle, n. d. (ca 1915); approx. 8 1/2 x 7; lithographed illustration to recto, text in red and green to verso; a few small spots of foxing, mostly to verso, else light wear; in very good condition. A beautiful, early-20th-century fan, it advertised the Diamond Brand footwear of the Peters Shoe Company. Founded in 1892 by Henry William Peters in St. Louis, the business would be one of the city's earliest shoe manufacturers and one of the most successful shoe companies. The fan carried the name of a California distributor of the Peters shoes - G. & M. Roos, Inc. in Plymouth, California and extolled the virtues of the Diamond Brand.
