By Zervos, Christian
Paris: Éditions “Cahiers d’Art”, 1957. First Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good Minus. An extensive survey on early Greek or Hellenistic art, , and much illustrated, with 344 large photographs, one to three per plate page, with some of these in color. Some drawn illustrations interspersed in the scholarly text, which is in French. A serious treatment of the subject -- this is not a coffee table book by any means. Folio, 38 by 28 cm. 278, [1] pp. A tight, clean copy. Dust jacket has short closed tear by front joint, a few shallow edge chips, and a modicum of stains. A light film of soiling was covering much of the DJ also -- we have erased some, and the rest can be done if one so wishes. There is a now faint inked former owner's name, or so we presume, in small letters by its upper front corner.
