1904. DAI NIPPON SANSHIKAI. Well-known raw silk producers and their trade marks, Empire of Japan : Compiled for Louisiana Purchase Exposition, 1904. [16], 23 pp., 24-166 ff., 18 pp., chiefly color illustrations. Folio, 295 x 215 mm., publisher's illustrated wrappers. Tokyo: Japan Sericultural Association, 1904. A fine copy of this unusual example of Japanese chromolithography. The work contains 143 pages which each provide information on a different silk producer together with their colour-printed trade card, with three actual cards laid in. A splendid visual survey of a segment of Japanese industry at the height of its power. The spine has been reinforced with tape, otherwise a fine copy of a rare book printed in a technique not usually associated with Japanese book production. OCLC lists just 7 copies in the U.S.
