A 12mo measuring 7 3/8 by 4 7/8 inches with a gift inscription dated in "1957" on the first free end page. In a very poor dust jacket with numerous chips and tears some repaired with old Scotch tape. 200 pages of text with a postscript by Mary Coley Gage. Illustrated with a frontispiece of an early engraving by John Warner Barber of the bridge over the Saugatuck River in the center of town as well as four black and white photographic plates. Tipped-in on page 68 is an old photograph (truncated) of Bradley Baker, a Civil War veteran, who is mentioned as "one of Westport's characters" on that page.. (Inventory #: TB33368)
