A surprising children's book from the well-known British futurist author, H. G. [Herbert George] Wells (1866-1946). The book details children's floor play in building towns, cities, in different cultures using blocks, boards and planks, bricks, cardboard tubes, trains, and toy soldiers. War games are quickly touched on in the final chapter. The dialogue is directed at both children and their adult caretakers.
