[VICTORIAN GIFT BOOK] [POETRY] [ILLUSTRATED] [ADVERTISEMENT]. 8vo square (8 ¾" x 7 ½"); [12]pp; stiff wrapper with a glazed chromolithographed onlay featuring a portrait of two girls on the front; rear wrapper features an advertisement for "Sir John Bennett's Ladies' Gold Watches" and "Bennett's Clocks"; brown cloth shelf back; cream-colored endpapers; gift inscription in neat ink on ffep; 5 chromolithographed plates on stiff glazed paper, 7 illustrated poems; chipping to pictorial on front wrapper, light hand-soiling on edges, a few small spots; very good plus. Not recorded. A lovely Victorian gift book featuring rhyming verse and sentimental scenes of children in lovely dresses. The interesting advertisement on the rear wrapper is for "Bennett's Clocks and Watches," the watchmaker to Queen Victoria.
