16.5x24 cm hardcover, tan cloth binding, bookplate of William Louis Stern to front paste-down, frontispiece portrait of Mendel, 400 pp, illustrations, jacket flap affixed to back paste-down. Very good in custom archival mylar cover. Introductory text in English by B. Nemec and J. Krizenecky (pp 1-18) is followed by reprints of Mendel's 1866 paper and 17 seminal papers in the history of genetics published between 1895 and 1904 (the rediscovery of Mendel's paper). These are printed in their original languages (English, French, German). Included are GARRISON-MORTON Nos. 222 [Mendel], 239.01 [De Vries], 239.1 [Correns], 241.1 [Boveri].
