United States, 1966. Very good. Some toning, short tears, minor wear.. A group of three (3) items related to education in the 1960s. They are published by vastly different entities (National Association of Manufacturers, American Cancer Society, and U.S. Dept. Of Labor), and have different aims. The first highlights the diversity of opportunities available, ranging from early education to administration. The second offers educators of all kinds tips on how to address cancer education, and the final item lists educator as one of the many fields in which mathematics is needed. It is interesting to see how education was viewed by society in the 1960s, versus today. The items include:

"Your Career in Teaching". New York: National Association of Manufacturers, c.1960. Single vol. (11" by 8"), pp. 26, illus., in original illus. self wrps printed in black and white and orange. A guide to careers in education, showing the diversity of teaching opportunities (early education, special education, high school education, administration) and society's need for educators. Each image of an educator has the caption, "Will you fit in THIS picture?". Offers advice for training and job seeking.

"Teaching About Cancer". N.pl.: American Cancer Society, 1960. Single vol. (6.75" by 7"), pp. 48, in original photo-illustrated wrps. A guide offering "source materials and information prepared to help secondary school administrators and teachers in developing instruction on cancer". Chapters include Approaches, Objectives, Concepts, Problem Areas (i.e. subjects to highlight) and Modern Cancer Research.

"Math and Your Career". [Washington, D.C.]: U.S. Dept. of Labor, 1966. Folding pamphlet measuring approx. 8.5" by 3.5" folded. Offers information about which careers require or benefit from training in math. Shows images of women and people of color working in the field. Lists dozens of occupations using math ranging from teachers and social workers to pilots,surveyors, and statisticians.
