Le Roy, New York: S.C. Wells & Co, 1913. Good to very good. Light toning with the occasional spot, some rust staining from staple with a resulting short tear in spine, gathering loose.. Printed booklet advertising family medicines to the American public by S.C. Wells & Co., focusing in particular on "Dr. Carter's K. & B. Tea", a trademarked "preparation compounded entirely of herbs and seeds and recommended for the relief of constipation and certain stomach, liver and kidney disorders". Features two well-heeled upper middle class women having tea on the cover, most likely trying to appeal to American housewives in charge of buying the family's medicine. The company's tactic of advertising to the average Joe is evident from the first sentence ("Just plain sense, that is what this book contains...". It is also targeted toward immigrant populations in America, due to the inclusion of brief pitches for the products in five different languages on the lower wrapper: German, Czech, Italian, Polish, and Swedish. Single vol. (4.5" by 3"), pp. [16], illus., in original illus. wrps.
