Pictorial printed broadside (15.5x19.5cm.) accomplished in manuscript; top edge adorned with three small woodcut illustrations depicting two types of coaches and a pile of luggage. Small closed tear at top edge towards left-hand corner not approaching text, old paper remnants to verso from having been previously mounted, subsequent toning showing through to recto, else a Very Good example.
Receipt dated Philadelphia, May 5, 1836, acknowledging business conducted between the coach makers Vandyke & Downing (located at S. Tenth Street between Locust and Walnut) and a Mr. George Brinton. Brinton purchased a coach harness ($75) in exchange for a second hand harness (credited $20). Similar receipts not separately catalogued in OCLC as of January, 2025.
