A.L.S. Indian Missionary letter and 3 photos

1912. Very Good. Autograph letter on single sheet folded to form four pages. 12 x 18 cm. Faint horizontal fold Letter dated Sept. 29, 1915 with inside addresss Sholapur, India. Original envelope is addressed to Mr. Wm L. Johnson Bloomfield Avenue, Monclair, New Jersey. Postmark and stamp torn off envelope- part of "Passed Censor" stamp visible.. 2 photos that appear to be teachers 15 x 10 cm. folded in the center and now mostly split along folds. Handwritten on back of photos "Kindergarten building in the back ground" and "Training school Class -1912. A third smaller photo is 11 x 6 cm and appears to be a group of children. Wheeler thanks Johnson for sending a parcel wiith some needed personal supplies -- Ivory soap, drugs (presumably medicines), etc. -- and says she is sending a check for $5.04 to pay shipping cost. She talks about the return of the plague and that she has had to close the kindergarten with over 100 children on account of the plague which she thinks will be around for six months. She does not seem personally worried saying that "we have all been inoculated and no rats have died yet.
