No Place [Hollywood] (circa 1943): No Publisher [Monogram Pictures] Photographic Image. Near Fine. Photograph. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED. Original oversize black and white photograph (11" x 13 7/8") SIGNED AND INSCRIBED in ink by Ann Corio lower left - "To Howard Stubbins with best wished from Ann Corio". Ms. Corio is posed with a large parasol in the photo, a trademark of her performances. Ann Corio (1909-1999) became famous as a star of the Minsky's Burlesque circuit. She appeared in only 4 films in this era, from 1941-1944, with three of them for Monogram Pictures. She would later go on to star in the self-produced off-Broadway show This Was Burlesque. Howard Stubbins was a Monogram Pictures executive and head of its West Coast franchise. The photograph is Near Fine, very small corner creases. A great Hollywood Association signature. .
