1900. VIEWS OF JAPAN. Album of 20 etched plates, and one loose plate laid-in. Oblong 12mo, 104 x 160 mm., contemporary full flexible brown stiff paper over boards. [Tokyo, ca. 1900]. A delicate and extremely unusual pocket album of finely etched views of the famous sites around Japan. Includes views of Mt. Fuji, Edo streets scenes during a festival, Shinto gates and shrines, imperial Shogun compounds, Japanese gardens, and views of Edo, Osaka and Kyoto. Prints mounted onto thicker silver-flecked paper. Boards very slightly worn, but generally a fine copy.
