First edition, first issue, 8vo, pp. x, [2], 403, [1]; original pictorial tan cloth with a cover illustration by the author; top of spine chipped, front hinge cracked; all else very good, sound, and clean. This is MacFall's first book. The book is reasonably scarce as a fire in the publisher's warehouse destroyed almost all of the first edition copies. Banned in the USA for 25 years for its risqué content and topless cover illustration, a second edition didn't appear until 1913, due to the hundreds of requests received by the publisher from all over the world. And then the "racy" cover illustration appeared as the frontispiece, (truncated)
