New York: Greenberg: Publisher. Good+. (c.1954). (Volume 5) First Printing. Hardcover. (no dust jacket) [solid copy, bumping to several corners, a bit of staining to covers; internally unblemished]. (B&W photographs) Provides cast/production credits for all films released in the U.S. during 1953. The "Promising Personalities" of the year, with the single exception of Audrey Hepburn, proved to be, on the whole, a pretty undistinguished bunch: Byron Palmer, Lori Nelson, Biff Elliot, Steve Forrest, Kathleen Hughes, Charles Drake, Pat Crowley, Elaine Stewart, Carlos Thompson, Edmund Purdom, and Barbara Ruick. This year's "Portrait Dolls of Famous Film Folk" (thankfully confined to a single page) gives us a group shot of dreadful doll versions of William S. Hart (looking a lot like Conrad Veidt in CALIGARI), Clara Kimball Young, Pearl White and Paul Panzer, Mae Murray and Bob Hope. The volume is dedicated to Lillian Gish. .
