Franconia, New Hampshire, 1905. Very good. light toning, dust soiling, spotting.. A handmade self-standing friendship token, made by an eleven-year-old girl for a friend to celebrate the 1905 New Year. Made form a miniature 12-month calendar pasted to a piece of card, with a stand on the back. Includes a message in pen ("Ring out the old, ring in the new."), doodled evergreen boughs and candles, and a message in pencil that reads "From Polly Palmer Nelson Franconia N.H." Measures approx. 3.5" by 6" Polly Palmer Nelson Simons (1894-1979) married Elmore G. Simons (1888-1936).
