Illustrated with twenty-one color maps, seven of them folding, eighty-five plans and fifty-six in-text drawings. Includes chapters on Upper and Lower Egypt, Upper and Lower Nubia, and the Sudan. Extensive register of places and subject matters at rear. Text in German. Light wear along edges of binding and lightly rubbed. Printed front endpaper and title page with 1/4" strips cut off along top edge, affecting Baedeker listing on endpaper. Slightly starting before frontispiece map. Ribbon markers frayed at ends.
