This work was originally published as "Tyrann" in Galaxy magazine, serialized in three parts in early 1951. The novelization was published by Doubleday in February of 1951, with the revised title of The Stars Like Dust. It was later issued in paperback form with the title The Rebellious Stars, without Asimov's permission.
