Overall, a superb copy. Aucassin et Nicolette is an anonymously penned 13th-century French chantefable (prose narrative interspersed with poetry) about two lovers who overcome pirates and imprisonment to be together. The story is seen as a parody of Old French genres, like the epic, the romance, and the saint's life. The one surviving manuscript of Aucassin et Nicolette is held at the Bibliothèque nationale de France.. Signed. Limited. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Dust Jacket Included.
