Signed Photo of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris
- SIGNED Paperback
Black and white photo. Signed by Maris and Mantle in blue pen. Photo of uniformed Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle, holding bats. About fine, with just a tiny black dot to top white margin of photo. JSA authenticated (letter to be sent upon receipt from JSA). Overall, a pleasing photo signed by an iconic pair of Yankees teammates. Mantle and Maris were teammates on the Yankees from 1960 to 1966, earning the nickname the "M&M Boys." The two received a lot of media attention in 1961 as they both strove to break Babe Ruth's single season home run record. That year, Maris broke the record with 61 home runs, and Mantle finished not far behind with 54. They remain the only teammates to hit 50 home runs in the same season and hold the record for combined home runs by a pair of teammates in a single season, with 115. Mickey Mantle won three MVP awards (1956, 1957, 1962) and the Triple Crown in 1956. He also helped power the Yankees to seven World Series titles. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1974 and was selected for the prestigious All-Century Team in 1999. Roger Maris was a 7x All-Star, 3x World Series Champion (1961, 1962, and 1967), 2x AL MVP (1960, 1961), and 1960 Gold Glove Winner. His number "9" was officially retired by the New York Yankees in 1984. . Signed. Photograph. Near Fine. 5" x 3.5".
