Publisher's red cloth titled in gilt to spine and front board, with gilt swastika device to lower front corner. 390pp. +32pp. publisher's ad catalog dated Spring 1908. Significantly sunned to the spine, with bumping to the spine ends and some light wear to the extremities; internally clean, with the bookplate of Elodie Belloc, beloved and short-lived wife of Hilaire Belloc, to the front pastedown, with a note in Blackwood's hand stating "King's Land, September 1908" in reference to Blackwood's home in Sussex, where Belloc and his wife were frequent and most welcome visitors. A very good (truncated) copy with wear to the spine, and a nice association.
