Original printed boards. Issue in boards, using the same paper as on the regular issue in wrappers (described on the "details of production" as "Edges uncut, covered with Bay Path Cover, brown ripple finish, overprinted with Garamont ornaments"). Buffum learned her craft from F. P. Hathaway, binder at the Boston Athenaeum and later at the John Carter Brown Library; and Charles McLeish of London, who one time worked for Cobden-Sanderson at the Doves Bindery.
