Playboy's Choice Playboy Book Club - 26 Issues Spring 1972 through June 1975

Lemoyne, PA: Playboy Book Club, 1972. Magazine. Near Fine. Printed Wrappers. 1st Edition. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Twenty six issues, including 11 for 1972, 7 for 1973, 2 for 1974, and 6 for 1975. All are Fine to Near Fine, all but 2 issues with ink notations front wrapper with ink notations of either "Accepted" or "Rejected" followed by the date sent. Typically 16 pages in stapled wrappers, some with return post card. Hugh Heffner's Playboy empire ventured into the world of mail-order book clubs in 1972 with a focus on books that catered to a male audience. The last Playboy club closed in 1988, and the Book Club's end appears to be unknown, but likely ended much earlier, if not in 1975. RARE, no issues in current online market, OCLC locates only the Beinecke Library at Yale with a single issue in their Roger Jackson Collection of Henry Miller Materials. The April 1972 issue has Miller's "My Life and Times" as the cover illustration. .
