The present work appears to be a reworking of a journal published by Jewitt in Boston in 1807. At least two editions were published of this book in 1815, one in Connecticut and the present volume, which was published in New York. Despite the fact that this work was published in numerous editions, Alsop felt he didn't really do Jewitt any real good, because he seemed to be reduced to a (truncated)
