Constitucion de la Republica Mejicana Sancionada por el Soberano Congreso Nacional en los Años de 1835 y 1836 [wrapper title]

  • San Luis Potosi: José Maria Infante, 1837
By [Mexico]. [Constitutions]
San Luis Potosi: José Maria Infante, 1837. Good.. 75pp. Printed self-wrappers. Wraps toned, with minor wear and small losses. Upper right corner dampstained. Light dust soiling and scattered foxing throughout. Scarce San Luis Potosi printing of the Mexican "bases constitucionales," issued by Santa Anna in 1835 after he assumed power, which led to the centralization of authority in Mexico and deemphasized the role of individual states. Called the "Siete Leyes" after the were enacted, the laws concerning the organization and authority of the federal government replaced the original Constitution of 1824. Not in OCLC, though we do find a smattering of other issues printed elsewhere in Mexico.
