Bound in golden brown cloth over boards, with elaborately decorated upper board and spine, with woman releasing a carrier pigeon, wise men, blossoming vines, and ribbons in gilt, green, and black, and title in black and gilt. All edges gilt. Mild edgewear to binding, with slight lean to spine, faint scattered rubbing and soiling, and gentle bumping and rubbing to corners and head and tail of spine. Decorative floral endpapers. Faint pencilled scribbles to title page and occasional smudge or spot of soiling to pages throughout. Binding is firm and sound. A stunningly bound and abundantly illustrated Victorian-era celebration of life and nature in verse.
