Edinburgh: Printed for and Sold by the Booksellers, 1792. "who was carried off from Aberdeen in his Infancy, and sold for a Slave in Pennsylvania." In 1754, after a series of abductions and adventures that carried him from his homeland, Williamson was taken prisoner by a group of Cherokee Indians. He escaped after a year and subsequently joined the army before being wounded and shipped back to Plymouth, England. He then walked back to Aberdeen, telling his stories enroute, which he later published as this book. The frontispiece engraving, "Peter Williamson in the Dress of a Delaware Indian" shows him smoking a pipe. First published in York, England in 1757, it went through several printings prior to this 1792 edition. Only a single copy of this edition has sold at auction since 1901, and that one lacked the frontispiece. Nothing but modern reprints online. Bound in calf over marbled boards.
