London, Paris, New York: Raphael Tuck & Sons, Publisher to Her Majesty the Queen, 1894. [EPHEMERA] [PAPER DOLL]. U.S. Patent February 20th, 1894.
9" tall stiff paper doll with tipped-on head, chromolithographed front, imprint on the rear with fold-out paper stand; four chromolithographed dresses with their hats; stiff glazed embossed four-flap envelope, printed with title and publisher; repair to doll stand, light crease in one ankle, wear to envelope wrapper; near fine doll and clothing, good plus wrapper. (Marian B. HOWARD 298). Cataloging Tuck's paper dolls is difficult because of the size, dress, and numbering inconsistencies. Sweet Abigail is labeled "VI" of the Prince and Princess Series. This doll has a tipped-on head, although some may have shoulder slits. Her clothing is printed in rich colors on a stiff paper stock with shoulder tabs that fold underneath her long hair.
