Gift inscription from Pete Seeger on front endpaper reads "For Irwin and Barbara with love, Pete Seeger." Inserted into the front is also a small sheet, measuring 5.5 x 8.5 inches, from Toshi and Peter Seeger's personalized stationary; underneath their letterhead is a message from Pete about the first printing's publication, noting he has already spotted errors, while he is looking forward to a forthcoming book from Irwin.
