A fine copy of this rare and important lithographic incunable which is distinguished by the presence of lithographs by or after the following artists: ; Jean-Jacques de Boissieu; Louis de Chatillon; Antoine-Laurent Castellan; J M Darmet, graveur.; Anne-Louis Girodet; Guerin, peintre.; Louis Lafitte; Pierre Mongin; Horace Vernet and Godeffroy Engelmann himself. The work can be see as an important step in making Paris the capital of artistic lithography. Stain at foot of title-page and some insignificant foxing, but an exceptional copy in original condition. The work is extremely rare, with OCLC listing only Getty, Art Institute of Chicago, American Philosophical Society and Newberry in the U.S.
