Rap Brown Power to the People". Stated Second Printing of the 1969 Dial Press paperback edition. Very Good, edge wear and rear top corner creased. An early and RARE signature, 1969-1970 were turbulent years in H. Rap Brown's life. He became a fugitive when he disappeared in 1970 for 18 months while facing charges related to illegal weapon possession in 1967, and was arrested following a shoot out with police in 1971. He was tried and convicted of robbery and spent (truncated) the next five years in Attica Prison, where he converted to Islam and changed his name to Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin. He later became an Imam in the Muslim faith. Thus SIGNED copies of his controversial call to arms before he changed his name are indeed RARE.
